Landfill & Transfer Stations

Part of Moltoni Waste Management services include the supply, operation and maintenance of the necessary transfer stations and landfills to help deal with residential, commercial, industrial and construction waste. However by utilising different techniques we can recover land & resources, generate power, and help reduce the footprint waste makes on the environment.

Landfill

Currently over 70% of household waste in Australia is sent to be disposed in landfills, however what we do with that waste and how best we recover and reclaim that land is up to us.

Each landfill is lined with protective shielding to stop any leakage through to the common soil and water tables, and the base is lined with pipes to extract out liquid released from the materials, and to produce several forms of BioGas which can that be used to produce power, creating a more renewable energy source from our waste.

Recovered Landfills

Once we have deemed that we have recovered as much resources as possible from a landfill, we proceed to create a solid cap over and around the waste, which is then layered with soil to lock the waste cell underneath the ground. These locations then can be used to create parks, golf courses, industrial areas and other such projects thus recycling the very land the landfill was once contained upon.

Transfer Stations

Transfer stations are used to help collect, sort and transport all waste collected in an municipal area. Local residents can bring in various sized loads of waste which will be sorted into various skips that will be later processed at the correct facility.

Additionally roadside collection vehicles can also bring loads into the transfer station for sorting, and loading into larger transportation vehicles which will in turn transport the waste to the appropriate facility.

Some transfer stations will also offer the sale of various recyclable material.
